Helping Hands Quilt Project - January 13th 2007
A very big "thank you" to everyone who came along -
we had a very successful and, I hope, enjoyable day. As it was the
first time I had used the Walmer Parish Hall, I was unfamiliar with
the layout - any such hiccups will be ironed out next time.
Nine quilts were almost completed and will be finished to give
to the Fostering Network later in the year. All suitable for boys
and girls age 8 - 10. The day went quickly. We only paused briefly
in our work to have soup for lunch and cakes, tea and coffee.
If you enjoyed the day and would like to come again, I have booked
the same venue for May 19th. As before, we shall start at 10am,
work in groups and it will cost £3 to cover expenses. This
time, after paying for the hire of the Hall and expenses, I have
enough money left to buy the next roll of wadding for us to use.
On May 19th we shall be making quilts suitable for teenagers using
a design of my own which makes a quilt similar to the Irish Chain
pattern. To book your place and for more information please contact
me on ( 01304 367220. Again, my very
grateful thanks.
