Stitches And Stems During June 2011 the Margate Floral Society and Thanet Quilters combined to put on an exhibition in Birchington. The quilts were themed " East meets West " and " Sun, Sea and Sand " and the Foral Society matched the quilts with a harmonizing floral display. Grosvenor Exhibitions have asked for Stitches & Stems quilts to be exhibited at their Ardingly and Sandown shows- then they are of to France to join Jane Rollason`s exhibition in Viville in France.

Watch this space for more pics from France! STOP PRESS: Jan Rollason will be repeating her Quilt Show in Viville in July 2011 and has already asked to borrow all the Stitches and Stems quilts to be displayed.

A local quilter has most generously donated the following quilt to be raffled at the exhibition – all funds raised to go to Margate Hospice!

Attention Young Quilters. The Quilters Guild has decided to give FREE membership to all young quilters in this next year. They will be given a starter pack as well as the normal quilter magazine. They will be given free membership after attending a Guild run YQ workshop. So if you have a number of children in your area who are already sewing and would like us to run a workshop for them please let me know. Chris. Contact details on message board.

CHRISTMAS MARKET WILL BE A REGULAR EVENT Thanks to all the stall holders at the Christmas Market who helped to make the evening such a success. We were surprised by the number of visitors who turned out on a very cold evening and who helped to make a very happy atmosphere. It is something we definitely intend to repeat next year.
